THE CANYON OF KATAFYKI The canyon of Katafyki is situated between Fournoi and Ermioni in a piny piece of land. In winter the homonymous mountain torrent forms a unique ecosystem. Katafyki must have been a shelter in the past . Its name Katafyki comes from the verb katafeygw which means take refuge in. The visitor of the canyon can admire its natural beauty as well as the argolic orchid. In winter , rare species of birds can be observed . This canyon which is full of caves fascinates the visitor and gives the impression that there is no way out of the stony world.
